Installation
Attention:
- Do not scratch the aluminum contact surfaces, any damage to the contact surfaces may cause leakage.
- Use safety goggles with side protection and sealed gloves (nitrile type).
Note: Be sure to replace the gasket and cylinder head bolts with new ones.
Attention:
- Ensure that foreign objects do not enter the oil passages of the cylinder head. Failure to do so can cause clogging of the oil lines, which can lead to rapid wear of the camshaft.
- To ensure proper tightening of the cylinder head bolts, any remaining oil must be removed from the threaded holes in the cylinder block using a syringe.
1. Clean the contact surfaces with a strong cleaner to dissolve any gasket residue. To do this, apply the cleaning agent to the surfaces to be cleaned, wait about ten minutes, and then remove the residue with a wooden or plastic spatula.
Attention:
- Do not allow cleaning agent to come into contact with paint surfaces.
- Thoroughly clean the cylinder head to prevent foreign bodies from entering the oil lines. Failure to do so may result in clogged oil lines, resulting in engine damage.
2. Using a straightedge and a set of flat feelers, check the deformation of the seating surface of the cylinder head. The maximum allowable deformation value is 0.05 mm.
Caution: Cylinder head surface boring is not allowed.
3. Remove TDC locating pin (Mot. 1489).
4. Place the pistons in the mid-stroke position to prevent contact with the valves while tightening the cylinder head bolts.
3. Install the cylinder head with a new gasket.
Caution: Do not lubricate new cylinder head bolts.
4. Install new cylinder head bolts.
5. Tighten the cylinder head:
- tighten the cylinder head bolts to an initial torque of 20 Nm,
- make sure that all cylinder head bolts are tightened to the required torque,
- Tighten the cylinder head bolts in the sequence shown by 220°±10°.
Note: Subsequent tightening of the cylinder head bolts is not required
6. Install rocker cover.
7. Insert TDC locating pin (Mot. 1489).
8. Turn the crankshaft clockwise until it stops against the TDC locating pin (Mot. 1489).
9. To establish all components removed earlier in sequence, return to removal.
10. Fill and bleed the engine cooling system.
