Removal



Place the vehicle on a two-post lift. Remove:
  • engine Top Covers;
  • protection of the engine oil pan.

Remove the battery.

Drain the fluid from the engine cooling system.

Drain the fluid from the engine cooling system.


Disconnect:
  • boost Pressure Control Solenoid Valve 1;
  • junction box in the engine compartment 2.

Disconnect the MAF sensor connector. Remove:
  • mounting bolts 3 shelves for battery;
  • bolt 4 fastening the air duct;
  • shelf for battery;
  • air duct between the mass air flow sensor and the turbocharger.

Loosen the air duct mounting bolt 5. Disconnect the air intake pipe 6.

Remove the metal pipe between the turbocharger and the air-to-air cooler.

Note: The metal pipe and the air intake pipe share a common mounting bolt.

Disconnect the coolant temperature sensor connector 7. Remove
  • engine cooling system hoses 8 using the tool (Mot. 1448):
  • thermostat housing mounting bolts 9;
  • thermostat housing. Replace the thermostat housing gasket.

Clean the mating surface of the cylinder head.

Installation



Install:
  • thermostat housing;
  • thermostat housing mounting bolts.

Tighten the thermostat housing mounting bolts to the required torque of 10 Nm.

Install the engine cooling system hoses using the tool (Mot 1448).

Connect the coolant temperature sensor connector.

Install a metal pipe between the turbocharger and the air-to-air cooler.

Attach the air intake duct. Tighten the air duct mounting bolt.

Tighten the air duct mounting bolt with a wrench.

Install:
  • air duct between the mass air flow sensor and the turbocharger;
  • shelf for battery;
  • battery shelf mounting bolts;
  • air duct mounting bolt.

Tighten with a wrench:
  • battery shelf mounting bolts;
  • air duct mounting bolt Connect the mass air flow sensor connector.

Secure with clamps:
  • junction box in the engine compartment;
  • boost pressure control electromagnetic valve.

Fill the engine cooling system with fluid.



Remove air from the cooling system. Install:
  • engine Top Covers;
  • engine oil pan protection;
  • battery.
