Disconnect the battery and remove the engine undertray.
Drain the coolant by disconnecting the outlet hose from the radiator.
Remove:
- the relay box by depressing the spring clips 1;
- shelf under the battery by removing the bolts 2.
To do this, drill three non-removable bolts using a 0.5 mm drill along the axis of the bolts. Then remove the bolts with a stud extractor.
Disconnect the power steering reservoir from the bracket and move it aside.
Disconnect:
- electric fan connectors;
- radiator inlet hose;
- sockets of antifog headlights 3. For this purpose partially remove the left and right fender liner.
Disconnect:
- bumper;
- two upper bumper rails A, then disconnect the holder B of each headlight unit;
- three mounting bolts 2 for each headlight;
- both headlights by disconnecting their connectors.
Attention! After installing the headlights, you need to adjust them:
- place the car on a flat surface;
- set the corrector knob to 0;
- make the adjustment.
If the vehicle is equipped with xenon headlights. it is necessary to initialize the system and adjust the headlights (see chapter «Xenon headlights, system initialization»).
Attention! If the headlights are equipped with xenon lamps, then it is forbidden to turn on the lamp if it is not installed in the headlight unit (dangerous for the eyes).
Remove:
- radiator lining;
- upper cross member mounting bolts, take it away and put it on the engine;
- lower radiator mounting elements;
- air ducts leading to the heat exchanger (F9Q engine) and take them away;
- clamps connecting the condenser to the radiator or heat exchanger (F9Q engine).
Attach the condenser to the cross member and remove the cooling system kit.
Installation
Installation is made in an order, the return to removal.
When installing, take care not to damage the radiator or condenser fins. Take steps to protect them if necessary.
Pour liquid into the cooling system and remove air from it.
