Removal
Place the vehicle on a two-post lift.
Disconnect the battery.
Drain the coolant by disconnecting the drain hose from the radiator.
Remove:
- gas distribution mechanism drive belt;
- timing drive tension roller (k4M engine);
- water pump.
Cleaning
It is strictly forbidden to clean the mating surfaces of the pump with a tool with a sharp edge.
use DecapjoW to dissolve any remaining pad residue.
It is recommended to carry out the following operation wearing protective gloves, apply the specified product to the surface to be cleaned, wait about ten minutes, then remove the product with a wooden spatula.
Avoid contact of cleaning agent with paintwork.
Installation
Install the water pump.

The seal is achieved by using Loctite 518 sealant. Roll C should be 0.8-1 mm wide and applied as shown in the figure below.
Pre-tighten the M6 and M8 bolts to 8 Nm, then tighten the M6 bolts to 11 Nm and the M6 bolts to 22 Nm in that order.
Note: Apply 1 or 2 drops of Loctite FRENETANCH to water pump bolts 1 and 4.
Install the timing belt tension roller so that the roller protrusion fits correctly into groove A.
F4P Engine
Note: Apply one drop of Loctite FRENE TANCH to bolts 3 and 4.
Install a new gasket.
Pre-tighten the water pump mounting bolts in the order shown below, and then tighten them to 9 Nm in the same order.
Install the timing belt.
Fill the cooling system with liquid and remove air from it.
