Removing
Place the car on a two post lift.
Disconnect the battery.
Drain the coolant by disconnecting the outlet hose from the radiator.
Remove:
- drive belt gas distribution mechanism;
- timing belt tension pulley (K4M engine);
- water pump.
Cleaning
It is strictly forbidden to clean the mating surfaces of the pump with a tool with a sharp edge.
use DecapjoW, which dissolves the remnants of the pad.
The following operation is recommended to be carried out with protective gloves, apply the specified agent to the surface to be cleaned, wait about ten minutes, then remove the agent with a wooden spatula.
Do not allow cleansing affinity to come into contact with the paintwork.
Installation
Install the water pump.
K4M engine
Sealing is achieved by using Loctite 518 sealant. Bead C should be 0.8-1mm wide and applied as shown in the figure below.
Pre-tighten the M6 and M8 bolts to 8 Nm, then tighten the M6 bolts to 11 Nm and the M6 bolts to 22 Nm in that order.
Note. Apply 1 or 2 drops of Loctite FRENETANCH to bolts 1 and 4 of the water pump.
Install the timing idler pulley so that the lug of the pulley is properly seated in groove A.
F4P engine
Note. Apply one drop of Loctite FRENE TANCH to bolts 3 and 4.
Install a new gasket.
Pre-tighten the water pump mounting bolts in the order shown below, and then torque them to 9 Nm in the same order.
Install the timing belt.
Fill the cooling system with liquid and remove air from it.
