Removal
Place the vehicle on a two-post lift.
Disconnect the battery.
Remove the engine sump guard.
Drain the coolant from the cooling system by disconnecting the drain hose from the radiator.
Remove:
- gas distribution mechanism drive belt;
- water pump.
Cleaning
It is strictly forbidden to clean the mating surfaces of the pump with a tool with a sharp edge, use the Decapjoint agent, which dissolves the remains of the gasket. It is recommended to perform the operation indicated below in protective gloves. Apply the specified agent to the surface to be cleaned, wait about ten minutes, then remove the agent with a wooden spatula. And do not allow the cleaning agent to get on the paintwork.

Note: Apply one drop of Loctite FRENE-TANCN to bolts 3 and 4.
Install:
- water pump with a new gasket, tightening the bolts to a torque of 9 Nm.
- timing belt.
