Dismantling the pump is a rather laborious work, therefore, in the event of a malfunction, we recommend replacing the pump assembly.
You will need socket heads «on 10», «at 12», flat blade screwdriver.
1. Drain the coolant (see «Coolant replacement»).
2. Remove the timing belt (see «Replacing and adjusting the belt tension, replacing the tension roller of the timing drive»).
3. Turn out eight bolts of fastening of the water pump to the block of cylinders.
4. Pry off the water pump with a screwdriver...
5....and remove it.
6. Clean the mating surface of the cylinder block.
7. Apply anaerobic sealant Loctite 518 to the water pump flange (or its equivalent), as shown in the photo.
8. Tighten the water pump mounting bolts in the sequence shown in the photo. Bolts M6 tighten torque 10 Nm (1.0 kgf·m), M8 bolt - torque 22 Nm (2.2 kgf·m).
9. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
10. Fill with coolant (see «Coolant replacement»).
