Replacing the water pump (Renault Logan 1)

Remove the pump for repair or replacement if it produces noise during operation that exceeds the normal level and coolant leaks.

Disassembling the pump is quite a labor-intensive job, so if it malfunctions, we recommend replacing the pump assembly.

You will need socket heads "10", "12", and a flat-blade screwdriver.

1. Drain the coolant (see "Replacing the coolant").

7. Apply Loctite 518 anaerobic sealant to the water pump flange (or its equivalent), as shown in the photo.

8. Tighten the water pump mounting bolts in the sequence shown in the photo. Tighten the M6 bolts to a torque of 10 N·m (1.0 kgf·m), and the M8 bolt to a torque of 22 N·m (2.2 kgf·m).



9. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
