- use of leaded gasoline;
- use of motor oil additives or fuel grades not approved by RENAULT.
And malfunctions:
- ignition system malfunction;
- total fuel consumption;
- spark plug failure, resulting in misfires and jerks when driving;
- power reduction.
They lead to excessive heating of the catalytic converter, reducing its efficiency, and can lead to its destruction caused by overheating.
Difficulty starting the engine
To avoid damaging the catalytic converter, do not attempt to start the engine (starter or towing), until you eliminate the cause of the malfunction.

Exhaust gas monitoring
The exhaust gas monitoring system allows you to detect malfunctions in the exhaust gas cleaning device. These malfunctions can cause the release of harmful substances or mechanical damage.
This control lamp on the instrument panel indicates possible damage to the system. It lights up when the ignition is turned on and goes out after three seconds. If this lamp is constantly on, contact a RENAULT station, if it flashes, reduce the engine speed until it stops flashing.
