The speed of rotation of the crankshaft of the diesel engine
Diesel engines are equipped with a mechanically controlled injection system that does not allow any overspeed of the crankshaft, regardless of the gear engaged.
Full depletion of fuel from the tank
If the fuel tank is completely empty, you can start the engine in the usual way after refueling by checking the battery charge level. If after several attempts the engine does not start, then it is necessary to remove air from the fuel system (see chapter «Maintenance»).
Winter precautions
To avoid possible problems associated with low temperatures:
- make sure that the battery is always well charged,
- the fuel level has not fallen below the critical level to avoid the formation of condensate that accumulates at the bottom of the fuel tank.
Vehicles equipped with a diesel fuel heater
This device allows the use of diesel fuel without special additives at temperatures down to -18°C or during regular use of the car when driving short distances at temperatures down to -5°C.
