Tightening the cylinder head bolts (Renault Kangoo 1)

1. Tighten the cylinder head bolts using a protractor disc for angular tightening of the bolts. To ensure correct tightening of the bolts, remove any oil that may be in the holes for the cylinder head mounting bolts with a syringe.

All cylinder head bolts must be replaced after removal. Tightening of cylinder head bolts is not required.

2. Lubricate the threads and bolt heads on the underside with engine oil.

3. To seat the gasket, tighten all bolts to torque A, then turn the bolt heads an additional angle a in the order shown below.

4. Wait 3 minutes for the gasket to shrink.

5. Loosen bolts 1-2 completely.

6. Tighten bolts 1-2 to torque B, then turn them further by angle β.
