Special tool required

Mot. 1273 Belt tension measuring device.

Fig. 1.4a:

B - Receiving unit with display;
C - Connecting cable;
D - Control calibration plate.

Operating principle

The measuring unit, using the knob 1 of the regulator of the pressure device 2 and the outer tabs 3, imparts a constant deflection to the belt. The reaction force of the belt is measured using the control plate 4, equipped with strain gauges. The stretching of the strain gauges leads to a change in their resistance. This change, converted by the device, is displayed on the display in SEEM (US) units.

Calibration of the device

The device is adjusted by the manufacturer, but every six months it is necessary to perform a control check of its readings.

Method of measurement

Setting to zero:
  • turn on the power supply of the device (button E) with the handle 1 positioned at the bottom of the measuring unit;
  • if the display shows 0, then the device can be considered ready for operation;
  • if there is no reading on the display, check the condition of the device battery with a nominal voltage of 9 V;
  • if the display shows a value other than 0, set it to 0 by turning screw F.

Checking the calibration

Turn on the power of the device (button E).

Place the Z reference plate into the measuring block as shown in the figure (engraved control marks upwards, A - minimum value, B - maximum value). Turn knob 1 of the pressure device regulator until the third click, thereby preparing the device for operation.

Make sure that the display shows a value X that is between values A and B (A < X < IN).
