1. Rotate the engine crankshaft to set the piston of cylinder No.1 to the top dead center position.

4. Turn the crankshaft clockwise (from the valve timing mechanism side) to the first mark.

5. Adjust the clearances of the exhaust valves of cylinders 1 and 3.

6. Turn the crankshaft to the second mark.

7. Adjust the clearances of the intake valves of cylinders 1 and 3.

8. Turn the crankshaft to the third mark.

9. Adjust: clearances of exhaust valves of cylinders 2 and 4.

10. Turn the crankshaft to the fourth mark.

11. Adjust: clearances of intake valves of cylinders 2 and 4.
