- On a cold engine (ambient temperature) install a new accessory drive belt.
- Position the Mot. 1273 sensor in the centre of the longest belt section (fig. 2.32. 2.33, 2.34).

Turn the sensor wheel until it clicks.
Tighten the belt until the required setting value appears on the display of the Mot. 1273 instrument (see table).

Fix the tension roller and check the tension value.
Turn the crankshaft three revolutions.
Make sure the tension value is between the set value and the minimum allowable value (the same procedure is used when checking the tension without removing the belt).
Do not install the previously removed belt, replace it with a new one
