Installation

  • Please follow the belt tensioning procedure below strictly. Remember that once the belt is loose, it must be replaced with a new one.
  • On a cold engine (ambient temperature), install the new belt onto the pulleys.
  • Install the Mot. 1273 instrument sensor in a place equidistant from the pulleys.
  • Turn the sensor wheel until it clicks.
  • Tighten the belt until the indicated setting value appears on the display of the Mot. 1273 instrument.
  • Fix the tension roller, check the tension value.
  • Turn the crankshaft three revolutions.
  • Make sure the tension value is between the set value and the minimum allowable value (the same procedure is used when checking the tension without removing the belt).
  • Do not install the removed belt, replace it with a new one.
