Exhaust manifold rear cylinder head (Renault Espace III)

Removal

• Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.
• Loosen the exhaust system inlet pipe clamp (fig. 2.7).
• Loosen the nuts securing the exhaust system inlet pipe to the front and rear cylinder head manifolds.
• Loosen the bolts securing the exhaust system inlet pipe in the area of the catalytic converter and remove the inlet pipe (fig. 2.8).
• Unscrew 3 bolts and remove the manifold heat-insulating screen.
• Unscrew the 8 manifold mounting nuts and remove the manifold.

Installation

• Install the manifold gaskets with the metal surface facing the manifold.
• When installing the exhaust pipe, first tighten the mounting nuts on the manifold 2 (fig. 2.7) and 3 (fig. 2.8), then the clamp (1, Fig. 2.7), then make sure the seals are tight.
• Make sure that the thermal insulation screens are installed in place and securely fastened
