Removal


  • Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.
  • Remove 4 screws and remove the top cover of the engine protective casing.
  • Remove the plastic wiring harness retainer on the engine lifting eye.
  • Disconnect the electrical wires and all tubes from the two holders of the protective cover
  • Remove 2 screws and two holders.
  • Disconnect the spark plug wires from the front cylinder head and move them to the rear.
  • Remove the bolts, disconnect the ground wires, then remove the two plastic spacers.
  • Remove 4 bolts and high voltage wire bracket.
  • Remove the air filter air intake pipe.
  • Disconnect the tube located between the idle air control valve and the air cleaner.
  • Disconnect the tube from the absolute pressure sensor.
  • Disconnect the oil vapor drain pipe.
  • Disconnect the vacuum line from the regulator and the canister purge valve.
  • Disconnect the vacuum hose from the brake booster.
  • Disconnect the connector from the air flow sensor on the throttle body.
  • Disconnect the connector from the idle air control valve.
  • Disconnect the connectors from the potentiometer and crankshaft speed sensor.
  • Remove the fuel supply and return line mounting bracket from the cylinder head.
  • Disconnect the feeder (green mark) and returnable (red mark) fuel lines.
  • Disconnect the wires from the fuel injectors.
  • Remove the two bolts securing the damper-fuel pressure regulator assembly to the manifold, then remove the two heat-insulating spacers between the damper and the regulator.
  • Remove the four bolts securing the two fuel distribution lines to the manifold, then remove the heat-insulating spacers
  • Remove the fuel distribution line - damper - pressure regulator assembly.
  • Disconnect the accelerator cable and cruise control linkage.
  • Remove the four manifold mounting bolts on the cylinder head.
  • Remove the manifold-throttle assembly by moving it forward.

Installation


  • Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
  • Replace the manifold gaskets with new ones.
  • Pay special attention to the exact installation location and correct connection of all air ducts and connectors.
  • Check the correct installation of the heat-insulating spacers at each attachment point of the fuel distribution lines and the fuel pressure damper-regulator unit.
