Attention:
Before carrying out any work on the injection circuit, check the following using the diagnostic equipment:
- Make sure the fuel rail is not under pressure.
- Make sure the fuel temperature is not too high.
Working with the elements of the power system while the engine is running is strictly prohibited.
Note: Wear protective gloves when performing work.
Prepare suitable containers to collect liquid and take measures to protect surrounding components from liquids.
1. Place the vehicle on a two post lift.
2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
3. Drain the liquid from the cooling system.
4. Install the lower traverse under the car (Mot. 1672), to support the engine.
5. Remove damper valve.
6. Remove the timing belt.
7. Remove the high phenomenon fuel lines between the high pressure fuel pump and the fuel rail (see chapter "Supply system").
8 Remove the high phenomenon fuel lines between the high pressure fuel pump and the fuel injectors (see chapter 9 "Supply system').
9. Remove rail fuel return line (see chapter "Supply system").
10. Remove fuel injectors (see chapter "Supply system").
11. Remove the fuel rail (see chapter "Supply system").
12.Disconnect the glow plug connectors.
13.Disconnect the high pressure fuel pump connector.
14. Remove rocker cover (see above).
15.Remove the exhaust pipe from the turbocharger.
16.Remove the components of the exhaust gas recirculation system.
17. Remove turbocharger.
18.Disconnect water hoses (1) from the cooling chamber.
19.Disconnect connector (2) coolant temperature sensor.
20. Disconnect pipelines (3) from the vacuum pump.
21. Loosen the bolts (4) fixing the cylinder head.
22. Remove the cylinder head with gasket.
