Adjustment values
Adjusting clearance on a cold engine, mm:
- For intake valves: 0.20+0,05-0,075;
- For exhaust valves: 0.40+0,05-0,075.
Note: The camshaft must be removed to replace the tappets.
Adjustment
The method of adjusting the clearances in the valve drive mechanism
1. Install cylinder valves (A) to the position of the end of the exhaust stroke - the beginning of the intake stroke.
2. Check clearance (X) cylinder valves (IN).
Note: Size (Y) corresponds to the pusher class in terms of thickness.
3. Correspondence between cylinders (A) at (IN) valve clearance measurement:
- set cylinder No. 1 to the end of the exhaust stroke - the beginning of the intake stroke: measure in cylinder No. 4,
- set cylinder No. 3 to the end of the exhaust stroke - the beginning of the intake stroke: measure in cylinder No. 2,
- set cylinder No. 4 to the end of the exhaust stroke - the beginning of the intake stroke: measure in cylinder No. 1,
- set cylinder No. 2 to the end of the exhaust stroke - the beginning of the intake stroke: measure in cylinder No. 3,
4. Compare the obtained values with the required ones.
5. Replace the pushers, the gaps between which and the camshaft cams are out of tolerance.
6. Remove:
- timing belt,
- camshaft bearing caps
- camshaft,
- one or more pushers out of tolerance.
Sizing «Y»
1. Install the indicator on the stand (Mot. 252-01) (1) and an extension for the indicator leg (Mot. 856-02) (2).
2. Calibrate the indicator.
3. Raise the indicator leg extension without changing the position of the magnetic stand and the indicator.
4. Install the plunger to be measured.
5. Remove size (Y) and repeat the operation for the pushers of those cylinders in which the valve clearances are out of tolerance.
To select the thickness of the pusher or pushers, see "Spare parts catalog" for this vehicle.
Spare parts are supplied with one-piece pushers in 25 thickness classes.
6. Check the clearance in the valve drive mechanism again.
7. If necessary, pick up new pushers again.
