Caution: Take precautions when handling refrigerant (see chapter "Air conditioning system").
Note: To remove the air conditioning compressor, a special station is needed to empty and recharge the air conditioning system.
Attention: To prevent atmospheric moisture from entering the air conditioning circuit, immediately plug any openings of the air conditioning system components. For this purpose, plugs for fuel lines can be used (part numbers 7 701 208 229 or 7 701 476 857). Plugs must be clean. Do not use plugs that have already been used to plug fuel lines.
Removing
1. Place the vehicle on a two post lift.
2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
3. Empty the air conditioning circuit using a refrigerant charging station.
4. Remove the implement drive belt.
5. Loosen the bolts (2) compressor piping flanges.
6. Disconnect the pipes from the compressor.
7. Plug the holes with plugs
8. Disconnect the compressor connector
9. Loosen the bolt (3) pipeline support fasteners, as well as bolts (4) compressor mountings.
10. Remove the A/C compressor from the engine.
Installation
Caution: To prevent leaks, make sure that all contact surfaces and piping are in good condition. Seals and contact surfaces must be clean and free from scratches.
1. Clean the refrigerant line seals.
2. Install the compressor and tighten the bolts securing the compressor and pipe support.
3. Connect the compressor connector.
4. Connect the pipes to the air conditioning compressor and tighten the bolts.
5. Install drive belt
6. Connect the negative battery terminal.
7. Charge the air conditioning system with refrigerant (see chapter "Air conditioning system").
8. In case of replacement, carry out the adaptation procedure:
- turn on the ignition,
- make sure the air conditioning system is turned off.
- turn on ventilation at speed 2,
- set the temperature setting to the minimum,
- select the air recirculation mode inside the car,
- start the engine
- start the air conditioning system in manual mode (in case of climate control, do not press the button "AUTO"),
- run the engine at idle for three minutes with the air conditioner off,
- turn off the engine.
9. Check the air conditioning system for leaks and make sure it functions properly.
