Note:
- The springs for the intake and exhaust valves are identical.
- Valve springs must be installed with the tapered end (6) up.
1. Remove valve springs (see above) and position according to the position on the cylinder head for correct installation later.
2. Using a micrometer or caliper, measure:
- free valve spring height
- valve spring height when compressed
- spring coil diameter
- inner diameter of the valve spring at the top and bottom,
- outer diameter of the valve spring at the top and bottom.
3. Install the valve spring in a special test bench and use it to check the height of the valve spring (X2) when compressed with a certain force.
Note:
valve spring height (X2) should be:
- 33.80 mm under load 218-242 N;
- 24.80 mm under load 477-523 N.
4. Remove the valve spring from the test stand.
