Removal
1. Place the vehicle on a two-post lift.
2. Disconnect the battery.
3. Disconnect:

4. Disconnect:
the crankshaft pulley mounting nut using the tool (Mot. 1606),
camshaft toothed pulley.
Note:
The fixture must be drilled: the fixture mounting hole (see P8982) must be drilled with an 8.5 mm diameter drill.

5. Disconnect:
- camshaft bearing cap mounting bolts,
- camshaft bearing caps,
- camshaft.
Installation
1. It is necessary to replace the camshaft stud if it has come loose together with the nut.
Note:
- 1. The camshaft toothed pulley mounting nut must be replaced.
- 2. The mating surfaces of the cylinder head and camshaft bearing caps No.1 and No.6 must be clean, dry and non-greasy (there should be no fingerprints).
- 3. Applying too much sealant can cause it to be squeezed out when tightening the fastening of parts. Sealant getting into the coolant or engine oil can cause some units and assemblies to fail (engine, radiator, etc.).

2. Degrease the mating surfaces of bearings No.1 and No.6 (1) of the camshaft with a degreasing agent.
3. Apply four rollers of the composition "LOCTITE 518" 1 mm wide on the mating surfaces of camshaft bearing caps No.1 and No.6(1).

4. Install the camshaft.

5. Install the camshaft bearing caps (in their original places, bearing No.1 is located on the flywheel side (2)).

6. Tighten the camshaft bearing cap bolts in the specified order and to the specified torque (11 ±1.1 N·m).
7. Check and, if necessary, adjust valve clearances.
8. Degrease with a degreasing agent:
- end of the camshaft from the timing drive side,
- socket in the cylinder head for the camshaft oil seal.
9. Install the camshaft oil seal.

10. Install the timing shaft toothed pulley.
11. Tighten the camshaft toothed pulley mounting nut to the required torque and turn it to the required angle (30±3 N·m + 86° ±6°).
12. Having established:
- cylinder head cover,
- vacuum pump,
- timing belt,
- right support of the pendulum suspension,
- accessory drive belt,
- right front wheel,
- air filter housing.
13. Connect the battery.
