Removal
Place the vehicle on a two-post lift.
Disconnect the battery.
Remove:
- right front wheel,
- accessory drive belt,
- right support of the pendulum suspension,
- intake noise muffler,
- timing belt,
- air filter housing,
- throttle body,
- intake manifold,
- ignition coils,
- cylinder head cover,
- front camshaft oil seals.
Remove:
- intake camshaft (1),
- exhaust camshaft (2).
- rocker arms (3),
- hydraulic tappets (4).


Note: Be sure to place the hydraulic lifters in a vertical position to prevent oil leakage from them.
Installation
Install the camshafts, ensuring that they are in the correct position.
Note: Be sure to fill the hydraulic lifters with oil, as oil may leak from the lifters if they are not used for a long time.
To check for refilling, push the top of the plunger with your thumb. If the plunger plunger sinks, submerge the plungers in a container of diesel fuel, then fill the plungers.
Replacing the camshaft stud
Note: If the camshaft stud has come loose when the nut is loosened, the stud must be replaced.
a - Removal
Clamp the camshaft in a vice with aluminum jaws.
Remove the stud using the roller stud remover (5).

b - Cleaning the camshaft
Note:
- - To prevent foreign particles from entering the camshaft, thoroughly clean the threaded hole in the shaft.
- - Failure to follow this instruction may result in blockage of the lubrication holes and rapid destruction of the engine.
c - Installation
Clamp the camshaft in a vice with aluminum jaws.
Screw a new stud into the camshaft (with the part with the locking compound (7) facing the shaft).
Tighten the camshaft stud to the specified torque (8 Nm) using the roller stud remover (6).

Install:
- hydraulic tappets,
- rocker arms,
- intake camshaft, lubricating the bearing caps of this camshaft with engine oil.
- exhaust camshaft, lubricating the bearing caps of this camshaft with engine oil.
Install:
- cylinder head cover,
- camshaft seals,
- ignition coils,
- intake manifold,
- throttle body,
- air filter housing,
- timing belt,
- intake noise muffler,
- right support of the pendulum suspension,
- accessory drive belt,
- right front wheel.
Connect the battery.
