Removing
Place the car on a two post lift.
Disconnect the battery.
Remove:
- right front wheel
- accessory drive belt,
- right pendulum suspension support,
- intake silencer,
- timing belt,
- air filter housing,
- throttle block,
- intake manifold,
- ignition coils,
- cylinder head cover,
- front camshaft seals.
Remove:
- intake camshaft (1),
- exhaust camshaft (2).
- rockers (3),
- hydraulic pushers (4).
Note: Be sure to place the hydraulic tappets in a vertical position to prevent oil leakage from them.
Installation
Install the camshafts, making sure they are in the correct position.
Note: Be sure to fill the hydraulic tappets with oil, as Oil can leak out of the tappets if they are not operated for a long time.
To make sure you need to refill, press the top of the pusher with your thumb. If the pushrod plunger sinks, immerse the pushrods in a pail of diesel fuel, then fill the pushrods.
Replacing the camshaft stud
Note: If the camshaft stud came out when the nut was loosened, the stud must be replaced.
A - Removal
Secure the camshaft in a vise with aluminum jaws.
Loosen the stud using the roller stud remover (5).
B - Cleaning the camshaft
Note:
- - Thoroughly clean the threaded hole in the shaft to prevent foreign particles from entering the camshaft.
- - Failure to follow this instruction can lead to blockage of the lubrication holes and the rapid destruction of the engine.
C - Installation
Secure the camshaft in a vise with aluminum jaws.
Screw a new stud into the camshaft (part with locking composition (7) towards the shaft).
Torque tighten the camshaft stud (8 Nm) using roller pin remover (6).
Install:
- hydraulic pushers,
- rockers,
- intake camshaft by lubricating the bearing caps of this camshaft with engine oil.
- exhaust camshaft by lubricating the bearing caps of this camshaft with engine oil.
Install:
- cylinder head cover,
- camshaft seals,
- ignition coils,
- intake manifold,
- throttle block,
- air filter housing,
- timing belt,
- intake silencer,
- right pendulum suspension support,
- accessory drive belt,
- right front wheel.
Connect the battery.
