Attention! Do not run the engine without the accessory drive belt, as this may damage the crankshaft pulley.
Removing
Place the car on a two post lift.
Remove the right front wheel.
Remove the right front fender liner (3).
Turning the accessory drive belt auto-tensioner clockwise with a wrench to (4) 16 mm, loosen the belt tension.
Lock the auto idler with a 6mm hex wrench (5).
Remove:
- accessory drive belt,
- bolts for fastening the automatic tension roller,
- automatic tension roller
- bypass roller bolt,
- bypass roller.
Installation
Parts that must be replaced:
- Accessory drive belt,
- Accessory drive belt tensioner,
- Accessory drive belt pulley.
Clean the crankshaft pulley from deposits with a brush.
Install:
- new bypass roller,
- new automatic tension roller.
Torque tighten:
- auto tensioner bolts (21 Nm),
- idler roller bolt (21 Nm).
Turn the accessory drive belt auto tensioner clockwise with a 16mm wrench.
Lock the auto tensioner with a 6mm hex wrench.
Install a new accessory drive belt.
Unlock the automatic tensioner.
To properly install the accessory drive belt, rotate the crankshaft two turns clockwise.
Installation is made in an order, the return to removal.
