You will need: all the tools needed to remove the timing belt (see «Replacing and adjusting the belt tension, replacing the tension roller of the timing drive»), as well as the key «at 16», screwdriver, pliers, hammer.
1. Disconnect the wire from the terminal «minus» battery.
2. Remove the timing belt (see «Replacing and adjusting the belt tension, replacing the tension roller of the gas distribution drive mechanism»).
Note. The belt can not be removed completely, it is enough to remove it only from the camshaft pulley.
3. Loosen the camshaft toothed pulley bolt, holding the pulley from turning, as shown in the photo, with the handles of the pliers inserted into the pulley holes and a wrench or a large screwdriver...
4.... remove the bolt from the camshaft hole...
5.... and remove the pulley from the camshaft shank.
6. Using a screwdriver, remove the oil seal from the socket of the cylinder head.
7. Before installing a new oil seal, inspect its working edge. It should be smooth, without tears, dents and rubber influxes. The gland spring must be intact and unstretched. Lubricate the working edge with engine oil.
Note. To facilitate the pressing of the gland, make a small chamfer on its seating edge using a needle file or a fine emery wheel.
8. Install the oil seal with the working edge inside the block head socket, carefully fill the working edge onto the camshaft (e.g. with a wooden stick) and press it in with a suitable mandrel. As a mandrel, you can use a suitable size head from the tool kit or an old oil seal.
9. Establish all removed details and knots in an order, the return to removal.
Note. Install the camshaft pulley with the protruding part of the hub towards the engine. Tightening torque of the camshaft pulley bolt 45 Nm (4.5 kgf·m).
10. Adjust the tension of the timing belt (see «Replacing and adjusting the belt tension, replacing the tension roller of the timing drive») and accessory drive belt (see «Checking the tension of the accessory drive belt»).
