1. Brake the vehicle with the parking brake and set the wheel chocks («shoes») under the rear wheels.
2. Loosen the wheel bolts.
Attention! Loosen and tighten the wheel bolts only with the vehicle on the ground.
3. Open the hood.
4. Holding the shock absorber rod from turning with one key, loosen the nut of the upper shock absorber strut fastening with the second key.
5. Raise the front of the vehicle and place it on jack stands.
6. Remove the wheel.
7. Turn away nuts of bolts of fastening of a rotary fist to a shock-absorber rack.
8. Turn out the top bolt of fastening of the top directing finger of the brake mechanism, keeping directing finger from turning.
9. Slightly move the caliper forward and remove the lower bolt securing the steering knuckle to the shock absorber strut.
10. Remove the upper bolt of the steering knuckle to the shock absorber strut...
11.... and wire the steering knuckle to the body elements.
12. Turn away a nut of the top fastening of a shock-absorber rack and remove a persistent washer.
13. Remove shock absorber assembly.
14. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal. Tighten the top nut of the rack with the vehicle on the ground to a torque of 44 Nm (4.4 kgf·m). The moment of an inhaling of bolts of fastening of a rotary fist to a rack of 105 Nm (10.5 kgf·m).
Note. After replacing the front shock absorber strut or its parts, check and, if necessary, adjust the wheel alignment (see «Checking and adjusting wheel alignment»), especially if new parts have been installed. To do this, use the services of workshops with special equipment.
