When removing, note the colors of the markings of the springs so as not to confuse them during installation.
Removing
Place the car on a two post lift.
Remove the rear wheel housing trim.
Remove in the trunk on a car standing on wheels:
- nut (1),
- rubber bushing (2).
Raise the lift.
Install the hydraulic jack tool with pad against the rear suspension in the area of the shock absorber.
Remove:
- bolt (5) lower shock absorber mount
- shock absorber spring.
Repeat the operation on the other side of the car.
Installation
Be sure to replace the rear shock absorber lower mounting bolt.
Parts that must be replaced: nut of the upper mounting of the rear suspension shock absorber.
Install:
- shock absorber by installing the shock absorber head in the socket,
- shock absorber lower mounting bolt.
Lower the lift and put the car on wheels.
Align the shock absorber head with the hole in the luggage compartment.
Install:
- rubber bushing,
- new shock absorber upper mounting nut.
Torque tighten:
- shock absorber lower mounting bolt (162 Nm) with the hydraulic jack installed, the hydraulic jack,
- upper shock absorber nut (14 Nm), while holding the head of the bolt with the wheels on the ground.
Repeat these operations with the shock absorber installed on the other side of the vehicle.
Install the rear wheel housing trim.
