Removing
Place the car on a two post lift.
Install a pedal hold tool on the brake pedal to reduce the amount of brake fluid escaping.
Release the parking brake.
Remove:
- rear wheels,
- brake drum,
- guide shoe springs, keeping the spacer bar in contact with the brake shield,
- upper return spring with brake shoe pliers.
Disconnect the auto lash adjuster spring retaining pin from the pressure shoe.
Extend the brake pads.
Turn off the fitting of fastening of the rigid pipeline to the wheel cylinder (take measures to collect the brake fluid).
Establish a stopper in a branch pipe of the brake pipeline.
Remove the bolt (2) attaching the rear brake cylinder to the brake shield.
Remove the rear brake cylinder.
Installation
Remove dust from brake drums and shields with a pressure cleaner.
Install:
- rear brake cylinder on the brake shield,
- bolt (s) attaching the rear brake cylinder to the brake shield.
Torque tighten the bolt (s) brake cylinder mountings (14 Nm).
Remove the plug from the brake line.
Establish the union of the brake pipeline on the working cylinder of the back brake mechanism.
Torque tighten the brake pipe fitting on the rear brake cylinder (14 Nm).
Hook the locking pin of the auto lash adjuster spring to the pressure shoe.
Install:
- upper return spring with brake shoe pliers,
- guide shoe springs, keeping the spacer bar in contact with the brake shield,
- brake drum,
- rear wheels,
- diagnostic tool tool for keeping the pedal depressed.
Remove air from the brake system.
Engage the rear brake pads by repeatedly depressing the brake pedal.
