Note
- Be sure to replace the brake wheel cylinders as a pair, even if only one brake cylinder has failed.
- If there are brake fluid leaks from the brake wheel cylinder, it is recommended to replace it with a new one rather than repair it.
Removal
- Remove the hub and drum assembly, using a piece of cloth to protect the inner bearing race.
- Using brake pad pliers, remove the upper tension spring from the brake pads.
- Spread the brake pads.
- Unscrew the union nut securing the brake pipe to the working cylinder of the rear drum brakes.
- Remove the two rear drum brake wheel cylinder bolts.
- Remove the rear drum brake slave cylinder.
Installation
- Check the condition of the brake pads and if there are traces of oil, replace them.
- Installation is carried out in sequence. reverse to withdrawal.
- Tighten the brake wheel cylinder mounting bolts to the required torque and bleed air from the brake system circuit.
- Adjust the position of the brake pads by pressing the brake pedal several times.
