Note
  • Be sure to replace the wheel cylinders in pairs, even if only one brake cylinder has failed.
  • If there are brake fluid leaks from the working brake cylinder, it is recommended to replace it with a new one rather than repair it.


Removal


  • Remove the hub and drum assembly, using a piece of cloth to protect the inner bearing ring.
  • Using brake shoe pliers, remove the upper brake shoe tension spring.
  • Spread the brake pads.
  • Loosen the union nut securing the brake line to the rear drum brake slave cylinder.
  • Remove the two bolts securing the rear drum brake slave cylinder.
  • Remove the rear drum brake slave cylinder.

Installation


  • Check the condition of the brake pads and if there are traces of oil, replace them.
  • Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
  • Tighten the brake master cylinder mounting bolts to the specified torque and bleed the brake system circuit.
  • Adjust the position of the brake pads by pressing the brake pedal several times.
