Note. Be sure to replace all pads on one axle of your vehicle, even if only one pad is worn.
Removal
- Lift the rear of the car, secure it to a support and remove the wheel.
- Remove the pin (1. fig. 12.13) fastening the brake pad fixing pin
- Using a beard with a thin cylindrical end, knock out the fixing pin (2) brake pads from the inside to the outside of the vehicle.

- Remove the compression spring (3) brake pads.
- Remove the bolt (A, fig. 12.14) fastening the lower guide pin.
- Rotate the caliper bracket around the bolt (IN) fastening the upper guide pin.
- Remove the outer, then inner brake pads.
Examination
- Check the condition and fastening of the dust cover of the piston and springs.
- Check the free movement of the brake caliper bracket along the upper guide pin.
- Check for leaks from the caliper and the condition and position of the piston dust boot.
Installation
- Rotating the piston with tool Fre. 1190, screw it into the caliper (pic. 12.15) If necessary, to install the device, loosen the bolt securing the upper guide pin.
- Starting with the inner pad, install new brake pads.
- Install the guide springs correctly (R, fig. 12.16).
- Lower the caliper bracket onto the pad guide and install the lower guide pin bolt, applying Loctite FRENBLOC to the bolt threads and tighten to torque.
Note. If the bolt securing the upper guide pin was turned out, it was removed. it should be installed first. Apply Loctite FRENBLOC to it and tighten it to the required torque.
- Install the brake pad retaining pin by passing it through the coils of the pressure spring.
- Using a tool with a thin cylindrical end, install the brake pad locking pin from the outside to the inside of the car.
- Install the locking pin.
- Press the brake pedal several times to set the piston to the working position.
- Check the parking brake adjustment. The manual shoe drive levers should begin to move when the parking brake drive lever is raised to the position between the first and second sector teeth and remain free when the lever is installed on the second sector tooth.
