You will need: keys «at 16», «at 17», «at 19», TORX T30, socket head «at 18», ball joint puller.
1. Place the vehicle on a viewing ditch and apply the parking brake.
2. Set the steering wheel to the straight ahead position.
3. Loosen the right front wheel mounting bolts.
4. Jack up the front of the vehicle and place it on jack stands.
5. Remove the right front wheel and engine compartment mudguard (see «Removal and installation of mudguards and engine crankcase protection»).
6. In the passenger compartment under the instrument panel, unscrew the nut of the terminal connection bolt...
7.... and disconnect the steering column from the shank of the steering gear shaft.
8. Press out the pins of the ball joints of the tie rod ends from the bosses of the swing arms (see «Replacing the outer tie rod end»).
9. Turn away a nut of fastening of the pressure head pipeline.
10. Take the pipeline aside...
11.... and remove the rubber sealing ring.
12. Turn away a nut of fastening of the drain pipeline...
13.... and take him aside.
14. Remove the rubber o-ring.
Attention! Take measures to prevent leakage of the working fluid from the pipelines by plugging them, for example, with wooden plugs.
Note. Replace the rubber O-rings on the discharge and drain pipes with new ones each time they are disconnected.
15. Turn out two bolts of fastening of an arm of a back support of a suspension bracket of the power unit...
16....and take it off.
17. Turn out two bolts of fastening of the steering mechanism to a stretcher.
18. Slightly raise the power unit and move the steering gear to the right.
19. Remove the steering mechanism from the car, having taken out it through an aperture in a niche of the right wheel.
20. Press the latches with a screwdriver...
21.... and remove the holder with the seal assembly.
22. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal. When installing the steering mechanism, pay attention to the fact that the rack is in the middle (neutral) position. The moment of an inhaling of bolts of fastening of the steering mechanism 105 Nm (10.5 kgf·m), nuts of the bolt of the terminal connection of the steering column with the shank of the steering gear shaft - 21 Nm (2.1 kgf·m), bolts for fastening the bracket for the rear support of the power unit - 105 N·m (10.5 kgf·m).
23. Have the front wheels checked and, if necessary, adjusted by a specialist workshop.
