Removal
Place the vehicle on a two-post lift.
Remove:
- front wheel,
- steering rod,
- wheel alignment lock nut.
Cut the clamp (1) securing the protective cover.
Remove the protective cover (2).

Installation
Be sure to replace:
- protective cover for steering gear,
- fastening latch.
Clean the mating surfaces between the steering gear and the boot with surface cleaner.
Apply silicone grease to the mating surfaces of the inner ball joint boot to prevent the boot from twisting.
Note:
- It is necessary to set the steering to the midpoint position so that there is an equal amount of air in the protective covers.
- Be careful not to damage the protective covers: risk of irreversible wear.
Install:
- new steering gear protective cover,
- new clamp.
Install::
- wheel alignment lock nut,
- steering rod,
- wheel.
Check wheel alignment angles, adjust if necessary.
