Tightening torque: Inner ball joint of steering rod - 80 Nm.
Removal
Place the vehicle on a two-post lift.
Remove the front wheel from the appropriate side.
Remove the steering rod.
Remove the protective cover from the steering gear.
Unlock the steering wheel.
Install the device (1) on the toothed rack from the drive pinion side.
Disconnect the inner ball joint of the steering rod using the tool (2).
Remove the inner ball joint of the steering rod.
Installation
Apply high strength locking compound to the inner tie rod ball joint threads.
Install the inner ball joint of the steering rod (1).
Tighten the inner ball joint of the steering rod to the required torque (80 Nm) using the device.
Remove the device
Apply silicone grease to the rack and pinion and inner ball joint of the steering rod.
Install:
- protective cover for steering gear,
- steering rod,
- wheel.
Check the front wheel alignment angles (adjust them if necessary).
