Models with heater
Models with K9K engine
Loosen the high pressure line fastening at the outlet of the power steering pump.
Connect the nipple (2) to the hole of the power steering pump and the hole of the high pressure pipe of the power steering pump.
Connect the pressure gauge (3) with a hose to the fitting.

Models with K4M and K9K engines
Remove the clamp.
Lower the car.
Fill the power steering system with ELF RENAULT MATIC D2 oil.
Bleed the system by turning the steering wheel from one extreme position to the other, first with the engine off.
Set the wheels to the straight ahead position.
Bleed the system by turning the steering wheel from one extreme position to the other with the engine running.
Bring the oil level in the tank to normal.
Remove:
- right front fender liner,
- right front wheel.
Check:
- the pressure developed by the power steering pump when the steering wheel is in the straight-ahead position and there is no pressure on it, which should be within 5-7 bar,
- the maximum pressure developed by the power steering pump with the steering wheel turned to the extreme position, which should be within 79-86 bar.
Stop the engine.
Raise the car.
Install a clamp on the power steering pump supply line to reduce the amount of fluid leaking.
Remove the pressure gauge and fitting.
Models with K4M engine
Remove the pressure gauge and fitting.
Install the pressure sensor.
Tighten the pressure switch to the required torque (12 Nm).
Connect its connector.
Models with K9K engine
Remove the pressure gauge and fitting.
Install the high pressure line bracket at the outlet of the power steering pump.
Tighten the high pressure line nipple of the power steering pump to a torque of (21 Nm).
Models with K4M and K9K engines
Remove the clamp.
Fill the power steering system with ELF RENAULT MATIC D2 oil.
Bleed the system by turning the steering wheel from one extreme position to the other, first with the engine off.
Set the wheels to the straight ahead position.
Bleed the system by turning the steering wheel from one extreme position to the other with the engine running.

Bring the oil level in the tank to normal.
Install:
- right front fender liner,
- right front wheel.
Check for fuel leaks.
Install the engine oil pan guard.
Models with K9K engine and air conditioning

Place the vehicle on a two-post lift.
Remove:
- left front wheel,
- front bumper,
- left front fender liner,
- power steering pump mounting bolts.
Install the clamp on the power steering pump hose.
Remove the high pressure line fitting mounting bolt on the power steering pump.
Disconnect the high pressure fuel line from the electric power steering pump.
Connect the hose to the power steering pump outlet and the power steering pump high pressure pipe outlet.
Install the high pressure line fitting and hose mounting bolt onto the power steering pump.
Tighten the high pressure line union mounting bolt on the electric power steering pump to the specified torque (25 Nm).
Connect the pressure gauge to the hose using the "C" fitting.
Remove the clamp.
Lower the car.
Fill the power steering system with oil (type: ELFRENAULTMATIC D2).
Bleed the system by turning the steering wheel from one extreme position to the other, first with the engine off.
Bleed the system by turning the steering wheel from one extreme position to the other with the engine running.
Bring the oil level in the tank up to normal (if necessary).
Check the pressure developed by the electric power steering pump with the steering wheel in the extreme position, the maximum value should be 90 bar.
Stop the engine.
Raise the car.
Install the clamp on the power steering pump hose.
Remove:
- pressure gauge and nipple "C",
- bolt for fastening the hose and the high-pressure pipe fitting on the electric power steering pump.
Connect the high pressure fuel line fitting to the power steering pump.
Install the high pressure line fitting mounting bolt on the power steering pump.
Tighten the high pressure line union mounting bolt on the electric power steering pump to the specified torque (25 Nm).
Remove the clamp.
Fill the power steering system with oil (type: ELFRENAULTMATIC D2).
Bleed the system by turning the steering wheel from one extreme position to the other, first with the engine off.
Bleed the system by turning the steering wheel from one extreme position to the other with the engine running.
Bring the oil level in the tank up to normal (if necessary).
Check for fuel leaks.
Install:
- power steering pump mounting bolts,
- left front fender liner,
- front bumper,
- left front wheel.
