Removal
Place the vehicle on a two-post lift.
Remove:
- accessory drive belt,
- protection of the fuel distribution rail.
Using a syringe, remove fluid from the power steering pump reservoir.
Install clamps (Ms. 583) to the power steering pump inlet and outlet pipes.
Remove the clamp (1) securing the supply line to the power steering pump using the tool.
Disconnect the supply pipe (2).
Disconnect the pipe connecting the receiver-dryer to the reducer on the electric fan of the engine cooling system.
Remove:
- bolt securing the high pressure pipe to the cylinder block,
- high pressure line nipple (3) of the power steering pump.

Disconnect the high pressure line of the power steering pump.
Install plugs on the power steering lines and pump openings to prevent contamination of the system.
Remove:
- bolts (4) for fastening the power steering pump to the multi-functional bracket,
- power steering pump with electric fan of the engine cooling system.

Installation
Install:
- power steering pump,
- power steering pump mounting bolts to the multi-function bracket.
Remove the plugs from the pipe openings.
Install:
- high pressure line nipple to the power steering pump,
- bolt securing the high pressure pipeline to the cylinder block.
Tighten to the specified torque:
- - bolts for fastening the power steering pump to the multifunctional bracket (21 Nm),
- nipple for fastening the high-pressure pipeline to the power steering pump (21 Nm),
- high pressure pipe mounting bolt on the cylinder block (21 Nm).
Secure the pipe connecting the receiver-dryer to the reducer on the electric fan of the engine cooling system.
Connect the supply hose to the power steering pump.
Install the hose supply line clamp onto the pump using the tool.
Remove the clamps (Ms. 583) from the power steering pump inlet and outlet pipes.
Install:
- fuel rail protection,
- accessory drive belt.
Tighten the fuel rail protection mounting nuts to the required torque (21 Nm).
Fill the power steering system with ELF RENAULT MATIC D2 oil.
Bleed the system by turning the steering wheel from one extreme position to the other, first with the engine off.
Bleed the system by turning the steering wheel from one extreme position to the other with the engine running.
Bring the oil level in the tank to normal.
Check for fuel leaks.
