Removing
Place the car on a two post lift.
Disconnect the battery.
Remove:
- left front wheel
- front bumper,
- left front fender.
Disconnect connectors (1) electric pump.
Loosen the clamp (2) low-pressure pipeline on the electric pump reservoir using a tool.
Disconnect the low pressure pipe and drain the working fluid from the reservoir of the electric pump.
Remove the bolt (3) fixing the flange of the high-pressure pipeline on the electric pump.
Disconnect the high pressure pipe from the electric pump.
Install plugs in the openings of the power steering pipes and electric pump to prevent contamination from entering the system.
Disconnect from holders a plait of wires of the electric pump of the hydraulic booster of a steering in a point (4).
Remove:
- fastening bolts (5) power steering electric pump,
- nut (6),
- electric pump with bracket.
Installation
Always replace the high pressure fuel line O-ring.
Install the electric pump together with the bracket.
Install the power steering pump bracket bolts and nut.
Torque tighten:
- electric pump assembly bolts (21 Nm),
- power steering pump assembly nut (21 Nm).
Remove the plugs from the openings of the pipelines and the electric pump.
Attach the high pressure pipe with new gaskets to the electric pump.
Install the high pressure fuel line flange bolt to the electric pump assembly.
Torque tighten the high pressure fuel line flange bolt to the electric pump assembly (21 Nm).
Connect the low pressure hose to the reservoir of the electric pump using a tool or (Mot. 1448).
Secure the pump wiring harness with holders.
Connect the electrical pump connectors.
Fill the power steering system with ELF RENAULT MATIC D2 oil.
Bleed the air from the system by turning the steering wheel from one end to the other with the engine off.
Connect the battery.
Bleed air from the system by turning the steering wheel from one end to the other while the engine is running.
Top up the oil level in the reservoir (if necessary).
Make sure there is no fuel leakage.
Install:
- left front fender,
- front bumper,
- left front wheel.
When replacing the electric pump assembly, program the power steering ECU.
