Removal
Place the vehicle on a two-post lift.
Remove:
- left front wheel,
- engine oil pan protection,
- right front fender liner,
- accessory drive belt.
Install the clamps from the power steering pump inlet and outlet lines.
Remove the hydraulic suction hose clamp on the pump using the tool.
Disconnect the supply pipe (1).
Loosen the mounting bolt (2) of the high pressure line bracket of the power steering pump.
Loosen the union (3) of the high pressure line on the power steering pump.
Disconnect the high pressure line of the power steering pump.
Install plugs on the power steering lines and pump openings to prevent contamination of the system.
Loosen the bolts (4) securing the power steering pump to the multi-function bracket.
Remove:
- bolts (5) securing the power steering pump support to the engine oil pan,
- mounting bolt (6) of the power steering pump to the multi-function bracket,
- power steering pump.
Installation
Install:
- power steering pump,
- bolts securing the power steering pump support to the engine oil pan.
Remove the plugs from the pipe openings.
Tighten the high pressure line fitting on the power steering pump.
Tighten the high pressure line mounting bolt on the power steering pump.
Tighten to the specified torque:
- power steering pump mounting bolts (21 Nm),
- high pressure line nipple on the power steering pump (21 Nm),
- bolts for fastening the power steering pump support to the engine oil pan (21 Nm),
- bolt for fastening the high pressure pipe support on the power steering pump (21 Nm).
Connect the supply hose to the power steering pump.
Install the hose supply line clamp onto the pump using the tool.
Remove the clamps (Ms. 583) from the power steering pump inlet and outlet pipes.
Install the accessory drive belt.
Fill the power steering system with ELF RENAULT MATICD2 oil.
Bleed the system by turning the steering wheel from one extreme position to the other, first with the engine off.
Bleed the system by turning the steering wheel from one extreme position to the other with the engine running.
Bring the oil level in the tank to normal.
Check for fuel leaks.
Install the engine oil pan guard.
