Removing
Place the car on a two post lift.
Remove:
- left front wheel
- engine undertray protection,
- right front fender,
- accessory drive belt.
Install the clamps from the inlet and outlet pipes of the power steering pump.
Remove the hydraulic suction hose clamp on the pump using the tool.
Disconnect the supply pipe (1).
Loosen the mounting bolt (2) power steering pump high pressure pipe bracket.
Unscrew the fitting (3) high pressure pipe on the power steering pump.
Disconnect the power steering pump high pressure pipe.
Install plugs on the piping and power steering pump to prevent contamination of the system.
Turn away bolts (4) securing the power steering pump to the multifunction bracket.
Remove:
- bolts (5) attaching the power steering pump support to the engine oil pan,
- fastening bolt (6) power steering pump to multifunction bracket,
- power steering pump.
Installation
Install:
- power steering pump,
- bolts securing the power steering pump support to the engine oil pan.
Remove plugs from piping openings.
Screw on the high pressure pipe fitting on the power steering pump.
Install the high pressure pipe bolt on the power steering pump.
Torque tighten:
- power steering pump mounting bolts (21 Nm),
- high pressure pipe fitting on the power steering pump (21 Nm),
- bolts of fastening of a support of the pump of the hydraulic booster of a steering to the pallet of a crankcase of the engine (21 Nm),
- high pressure pipe support bolt on power steering pump (21 Nm).
Connect the supply hose to the power steering pump.
Install the hose inlet pipe clamp on the pump using the tool.
Remove clamps (Ms. 583) from the inlet and outlet pipelines of the power steering pump.
Install the accessory drive belt.
Fill the power steering system with ELF RENAULT MATICD2 oil.
Bleed the air from the system by turning the steering wheel from one end to the other first with the engine off.
Bleed air from the system by turning the steering wheel from one end to the other while the engine is running.
Top up the oil level in the reservoir.
Make sure there is no fuel leakage.
Install the engine undertray.
