Removal and installation of an inlet air duct of an intercooler
Removing the intercooler intake duct
1. Place the vehicle on a two post lift.
2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
3. Unscrew the fastening bolts and remove the engine protective tray.
4. Loosen the bolt (5) outlet pipe of the turbocharger.
5. Remove the turbocharger outlet pipe.
6. Remove seals from turbocharger outlet pipe.
7. Unlock clamp (6) the intercooler intake air duct by prying it with a flat screwdriver by the tabs (7).
8. Unhook the intake duct from the intercooler.
9. Rotate the intercooler intake duct clamp.
10. Disconnect the intercooler intake duct.
11. Remove the intercooler intake duct.
Intercooler Intake Duct Installation
Note: Be sure to replace the intercooler intake duct seal with a new one.
1. Use tweezers to remove the seal from the air inlet duct of the intercooler.
2. Install a new seal in the intercooler air inlet duct and check that the seal is evenly seated.
3. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Note:
- Make sure the clamp on the intercooler inlet duct is properly secured before attaching it to the turbocharger or intercooler.
- When installing the air duct, it should lock into place with an audible click. After that, you need to shake the air duct to make sure it is securely fixed.
