Note:
: replace the part with a new one after each removal.
: a special tool/device must be used.
Exhaust pipe of the D4F engine (1.2 l):1. Sealing ring. 2. Catalytic converter. 3. Expansion chamber. 4. Damper. 5. Silencer. 6. Rubber mounting bracket for silencer (Mot. 1857).
Exhaust pipe of the K7M engine (1.6 l, 8 valves):1. Sealing ring. 2. Rubber mounting hanger (Mot. 1857). 3. Intermediate pipe. 4. Expansion chamber. 5. Damper. 6. Silencer. 7. Rubber mounting hanger of the silencer (Mot. 1857).
Exhaust pipe of the K4M engine (1.6 l, 16 valves): 1. Sealing ring. 2. Catalytic converter. 3. Intermediate pipe. 4. Expansion chamber. 5. Damper. 6. Rubber mounting bracket. 7. Silencer. 8. Rubber mounting bracket for silencer (Mot. 1857).
Exhaust pipe of the K9K engine (1.5 l, diesel):1. Sealing ring. 2. Intermediate pipe. 3. Damper. 4. Silencer. 5. Rubber mounting bracket for silencer (Mot. 1857).
Be sure to replace with new ones after each removal:
- exhaust clamps (if installed);
- gaskets and sealing rings in the connections between the catalytic converter and the exhaust system flange;
- exhaust pipe clamps (if installed).
Attention:
- Do not park the vehicle or start the engine over flammable materials or objects (grass or fallen tree leaves), since their contact with the hot exhaust pipe may cause combustion and fire.
- The catalytic converter contains ceramic fibers placed in a closed block. Drilling or cutting the catalytic converter is prohibited.
During removal and installation, do not drop or hit the catalytic converter, as this may damage it.
The entire exhaust pipe is made of stainless steel.
After working on the bracket between the catalytic converter and the exhaust pipe flange, it is necessary to ensure perfect sealing of the connection. To do this, clean the contact surfaces with sandpaper and degrease with a clean cloth soaked in a cleaning agent. Be sure to replace the gaskets and sealing rings of the connection with new ones.
