To do this, do the following:
- Correctly determine the cutting area (see below).
- Cut the exhaust pipe with a suitable pipe cutter (diameter 35/50 mm or diameter 50/65 mm) (Mot. 1199-01).
- Position the exhaust pipe clamp correctly.
Determination of the cut section of the exhaust pipe
Two dot marks applied to the exhaust pipe indicate the area where the pipe needs to be cut.
Before cutting the exhaust pipe, a line must be drawn (D) between two marks (P1) And (R2).
Distance between two marks to, exhaust pipe (XI) is 80 mm.
Cutting the exhaust pipe
Place pipe cutter (Mot. 1199-01) (Into the exhaust pipe).
Tighten the two bolts of the pipe cutter so that it compresses the pipe.
Rotate the pipe cutter by hand, pressing it against the pipeline and tightening the two bolts, until the pipe is completely cut.
Note: Do not overtighten the pipe cutter to avoid deforming the exhaust pipe.
After the pipeline has been cut, it must be edged to be used again on the vehicle.
Exhaust clamp location
Caution: Do not reuse an old exhaust clamp.
1. Place the exhaust clamp on the outlet of the component installed on the vehicle.
2. Push the nozzle against the ledge (2) inside the clamp.
Exhaust clamp with one bolt
Exhaust clamp with two bolts
3. Slightly tighten the bolt (s) exhaust clutch (depending on version).
4. Place the second part of the exhaust pipe under the vehicle and insert it into the exhaust sleeve.
Note: If necessary, use a garage jack to lift and support heavy and bulky exhaust system components.
5. Insert the second part of the exhaust pipe up to the stop into the protrusion inside the clamp.
6. Make sure the two dot marks (3) coincide with each other (if any).
7. Position the clamp so that its bolts do not touch the heat shields.
8. Tighten the nut (ki) exhaust clamp with the specified tightening torque:
- exhaust clamp with one bolt: 25 Nm;
- exhaust clamp with two bolts: 18 Nm.
9. Check and, if necessary, correct the following:
- the exhaust pipe must not touch the heat shields on the bottom of the vehicle;
- All heat shields must be in place and securely fastened.
Note: Any damaged heat shields must be replaced with new ones.
10. Start the engine.
11. Check the tightness of the exhaust pipe.
Note:
- If a breakthrough of exhaust gases through a clamp with one bolt is detected, it is necessary to apply a special mastic to the clamp (selected from the spare parts catalog).
- If applying mastic does not correct the leak, remove and replace the exhaust clamp with a new one. Check the condition of the exhaust pipes (condition of the surface of pipelines, smoothness of the ends of the nozzles, damage to pipelines). Install a new exhaust clamp according to the instructions above.
