Do not press the brake pedal when working on the brake system.
If, during work on the brake system, any damage to any components is found, they must be repaired before driving the car.
Brake fluid is highly corrosive. Do not allow brake fluid to come into contact with vehicle surfaces. If this does happen, immediately remove the brake fluid from the surfaces. Before starting work, cover vehicle body surfaces with suitable covers. A suitable drip tray must be placed under the vehicle in advance to collect the liquid
Brake fluid can cause serious injury and damage if handled incorrectly. The brake fluid manufacturer's instructions must be followed.
Do not allow greases, oils and other materials based on mineral oils to come into contact with the friction surfaces of the brake mechanisms.
To prevent damage to the parking brake cable guard and to prevent premature wear of the system, hold the cable only with your hands and not with tools (for example, pliers).
To ensure the correct operation of the ABS and ESP systems, make sure that the brake pipes on the bottom of the vehicle are fixed in the holders and do not cross.
Attention: In order to avoid malfunctions in the operation of the ESP and emergency situations, make sure not to confuse the connected brake lines and hoses.
To avoid damage to brake hoses:
- do not stretch the hoses,
- do not twist the hoses,
- prevent brake hoses from coming into contact with surrounding components.
Attention:
To avoid permanent damage to the front hub bearing:
- Do not loosen or tighten the drive shaft nut when the vehicle wheels are on the ground.
- Do not place the vehicle with its wheels on the ground with the drive shaft loose or removed.
Attention:
- To ensure proper functioning of the wheel sensor, do not apply sensor marks on the bearing.
- When removing the hub, it is important to replace the bearing with a new one.
- To avoid damage to the bearing, do not apply force to its inner sleeve.
It is important to check the condition of the hub and bearing surface of the steering knuckle before reinstalling the bearing.
Use cleaning agent to clean:
- inner and outer surfaces of new bearings in contact with the hub and steering knuckle;
- surfaces of the steering knuckle in contact with the new bearing;
- hub surfaces in contact with the new bearing.
Be sure to check the condition of the steering knuckle surface before reinstalling the hub bearing assembly. Clean the surfaces of the steering knuckle in contact with the hub bearing assembly with a cleaning agent. Replace any components whose contact surfaces are deeply scratched or cracked.
When replacing the suspension spring, make sure that the spring is in the correct position relative to its seat. Be sure to replace both springs on the same vehicle axle at the same time.
Be sure to replace both shock absorbers on the same vehicle axle at the same time.
For safety reasons, do not leave the suspension spring compressed in the spring compressor.
During disassembly and assembly, take care not to damage the surfaces and paintwork.
Avoid impacts when working on suspension components. Any suspension hooks and clamping or positioning collars must be fitted with rubber or plastic inserts to prevent damage to the suspension components.
It is recommended to replace the springs with new ones if:
- damaged paint layer;
- there are dents on the spring.
As a rule, springs do not have a symmetrical shape, so it is necessary to pay attention to their correct installation. To do this, use the color marks on the springs.
Attention: In order to avoid premature destruction of the suspension spring, it is necessary to ensure that the anti-corrosion protection is not damaged.
It is recommended to replace the anti-roll bar with a new one if:
- damaged paint layer;
- there are dents on the stabilizer bar.
Note: The most critical and vulnerable sections of the stabilizer bar are the places of its bends.
Caution: To avoid any damage, do not use the lower suspension arms as a reference point for the lift.
Before re-installation, it is necessary to check the condition of all anthers. Be sure to replace damaged components with new ones.
Caution: To prevent wear on the rear suspension components (rubber bushings, brake hoses, etc.) Do not remove both rear shock absorbers from the vehicle at the same time. Replace the rear shock absorbers, one on each side at a time.
