Removing the rear wheel bearing
1. Place the vehicle on a two post lift.
2. Remove rear wheel and brake drum (see chapter "Brake system") on the corresponding side of the vehicle.
3. Remove retaining ring (1) brake drum bearing.
4. Using a suitable tube with an outer diameter of 49 mm and a press, remove the bearing from the brake drum.
Rear wheel bearing installation
1. Clean with a cleaning agent the inner and outer surfaces of the new bearing in contact with the brake drum and wheel trunnion, as well as the surfaces of the brake drum and wheel hub in contact with the bearing.
2. Be sure to check the status of the following components:
- sockets for installing the bearing in the brake drum;
- wheel axle.
Note: Be careful not to deform the ABS sensor pulse disk (3) when pressing the bearing. Replace any defective components with new ones.
3. Press the bearing into the shoulder until it stops, using a tube with an outer diameter of 50 mm and a press.
Note: Make sure the tube rests against the outer race of the bearing.
Attention: Do not press the bearing against its inner sleeve, as this may damage the bearing.
4. Install the bearing circlip.
5. Further installation of the manufacturer in the reverse order of removal.
