Note: Wheel removal and installation procedures are the same for all types of wheels.
Removing the wheel from the car
1. Place the vehicle on a two post lift.
2. Release the parking brake.
3. Remove the wheel cover.
4. Place the wheel so that its valve is on top.
5. With the wheel on the ground, loosen the wheel bolts.
Note: Use heads with protective pads to prevent damage to the alloy wheel.
6. Raise the car with a jack.
7. Completely unscrew the wheel bolts and remove the wheel from the vehicle.
8. If the wheel is not removed after unscrewing the bolts:
- Insert all wheel bolts into place.
- Tighten wheel bolts until bolt heads make contact with wheel.
- Loosen each bolt one turn.
- Tap the tires around the circumference several times (1) mallet outside and inside to disconnect the wheel from the hub.
- Completely unscrew the wheel bolts and remove the wheel from the vehicle.
9. If after that the wheel is not removed:
- Knock the wheel from the inside (2) mallet through a wooden block.
Note: To avoid damage, do not hit the wheel too hard.
- Completely unscrew the wheel bolts and remove the wheel from the vehicle.
Installing a wheel on a car
1. Clean the seating surface of the wheel hub with a wire brush.
Note: There are two types of wheel bolts for alloy wheels and steel wheels. Bolts of the same type should not be replaced by others.
A. Wheel bolt for alloy wheel. B. Wheel bolt for steel rim.
2. Check the condition of the tire.
Attention: Do not move or remove balance weights.
3. Apply to the contact surfaces of the rim (3) copper anti-seize grease.
4. Install the wheel on the car, placing the valve at the top.
5. Insert wheel bolts.
6. Screw in the wheel bolts until the bolt heads come into contact with the wheel.
7. Pre-tighten the wheel bolts to 30 Nm with the wheel suspended, starting with the bottom bolt.
8. Turn the wheel 180°to move the valve to the lower position.
9. Lower the car on wheels.
Note: Use heads with protective pads to prevent damage to the alloy wheel.
10. Tighten the wheel bolts to 105 Nm.
11. Install the wheel cover on the wheel.
