Removal
- disconnect the negative cable from the battery;
- apply the parking brake, raise the front of the vehicle and place stands under the body;
- remove the protective cover under the engine;
- drain the engine oil, then install the drain plug;
- remove the front wheels and take out the protective plastic shield from the right wheel arch;
- set the steering wheel to the straight-ahead position and secure it against possible turns;
- move the protective cover on the steering shaft and unscrew the intermediate shaft mounting bolt of the steering column (see section "Steering");
- disconnect the lower suspension arm joints from the steering knuckles (see section "Chassis");
- disconnect from the steering knuckles and remove the tie rod ends as described in the section "Steering";
- disconnect the front suspension subframe ties from the body and the gear shift lever rod from the gearbox (on engines with automatic transmission, disconnect the selector cable);
- unscrew the lower fastening of the front bumper;
- loosen the bolts securing the rear engine mount rod to the body;

- unscrew the subframe reinforcement bolts (see Figure 3.11);
- disconnect the front suspension arms from the subframe as described in the section "Chassis";

- unscrew the bolts securing the subframe to the body one by one, replacing them one by one with pre-prepared struts with cut threads and nuts. The subframe must be lowered by the size X=130 mm in the area of the front support and by the size X=90 mm in the area of the rear support (Figure 3.47), to remove the engine sump. At the same time, disconnect the steering gear shaft from the steering intermediate shaft;
- make sure that the removal of the pan is not interfered with by the mating parts and assemblies, and unscrew the bolts securing it to the cylinder block;
- using a plastic hammer, gently tap the pan to loosen it from the gasket and remove it from the engine, retaining the semicircular gaskets.
