Removal


  • remove the engine oil pan;

  • unscrew the pump mounting bolts and the anti-foam plate mounting bolts in the engine crankcase (Figure 3.51);
  • remove the anti-foam plate;

  • rotate the pump slightly to release the pump sprocket from the drive chain and remove the pump from the engine crankcase (Figure 3.52). Install the guide bushings in their places.

Installation


  • wipe off any dirt from the contact surfaces of the pump and cylinder block;
  • align the pump with the bushings, put the drive chain from the crankshaft sprocket on the pump sprocket;
  • tighten the two pump mounting bolts to the specified torque;
  • install the anti-foam plate and tighten it with bolts;
  • install the engine sump.

Note: Disassembly and inspection of the oil pump are described in the subsection "Lubrication system".
