Removal and installation of the front right drive shaft
Removing the drive shaft
Attention:
To avoid permanent damage to the front hub bearing:
- Do not loosen or tighten the drive shaft nut when the vehicle wheels are on the ground.
- Do not place the vehicle with its wheels on the ground with the drive shaft loose or removed.
1. Place the vehicle on a two post lift.
2. Remove the front right wheel from the vehicle.
3. Unscrew the fastening bolts and remove the engine protective tray.
4. Drain the oil from the gearbox.
5. Unhook the front right brake hose from the shock absorber base.
6. Disconnect the right front wheel speed sensor.
7. Loosen the drive shaft nut.
8. To turn away a nut of a tip of steering draft.
9. Press the front right drive shaft out of the steering knuckle using a universal grip (Tav. 1050-04) (1) and screw extractor (Tav. 1420, Tav.1050-04, Tar. 1454, Tar. 1850. (Tav. 1420-01)) (2).
10. With ball joint puller (Tav. 476) disconnect the tie rod end.
11. Remove the bolts at the shock absorber base.
12. Tilting knuckle (4) remove the left drive shaft from it (3).
13. Remove the right front drive shaft from the gearbox.
14. Remove the right differential seal from the gearbox (see section "Replacing differential seals" later in this chapter).
Installing the drive shaft
Attention: Be sure to replace the right differential seal with a new one.
1. Install the right differential seal (see section "Replacing differential seals" later in this chapter).
2. Place and insert the drive shaft into the gearbox.
3. Insert the front right drive shaft into the steering knuckle.
4. Install the bolts in the shock absorber base.
5. Install the tie rod end nut.
6. Install the drive shaft nut.
7. Insert the right brake hose into the shock absorber base mount.
8. Install the right front wheel speed sensor.
9. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
10. Fill the gearbox with oil.
