Installing differential seals
Caution: Replace differential seals with new ones after each removal.
Open type gearbox
Note: The differential output seal is installed using a sun gear seal drift (Bvi. 945), consisting of a protective element (A) and the drift itself (B).

1. Insert the lubricated protective element (A) into the sun gear.

2. Place the lubricated differential output seal (C) with the drift (B) into the socket.
Closed type gearbox, seal on the left side of the differential
3. Install new left differential output seal with drift (Bvi. 1960) (1), selecting part "L".

4. Using a drift (Bvi, 1960) (1) and a brass hammer (2), press in the new left differential output seal until it stops in the socket.
Closed type gearbox, oil seal on the right side of the differential
5. Drive shaft with relay bearing:
- Install new right differential output seal with housing (Bvi. 1960) (3), selecting part "R".

- Using a drift (Bvi. 1960) and a brass hammer, press the new right differential output seal into the socket until it stops.
6. Drive shaft without relay bearing:
- Install new right hand differential output seal with drift (Bvi. 1960) (4), selecting part "L".

- Using a drift (Bvi. 1960) and a brass hammer, press the new right differential output seal into the socket until it stops.
