1. Small boot collar. 2. Anther drive shaft. 3. Retaining ring. 4. Cross. 5. Retaining ring. 6. Ball bearing. 7. Reflector. 8. Drive shaft.
Attention: When performing work, use sealed gloves (nitrile).
Removing the anther of the left drive shaft from the side of the gearbox
1. Place the vehicle on a two post lift.
2. Unscrew the fastening bolts and remove the engine protective tray.
3. Drain the oil from the gearbox.
4. Remove the front left wheel.
5. Remove the front left drive shaft.
6. Remove the retaining ring with special pliers (8).
Note: Before removing, mark the installation position of the cross
7. Using a press and puller, remove the cross (9) from the drive shaft.
8. Similarly, remove the bearing/anther assembly from the drive shaft.
Installing the anther of the left drive shaft from the side of the gearbox
Caution: Replace boot, circlip and boot clamps with new ones after each removal.
1. Use a cleaning agent to clean the drive shaft, cross and drive shaft joint housing.
Note: Do not press the boot onto the drive shaft with hammer blows. Use a press to apply pressure gradually to avoid damage to the ball bearing and seals that could cause leaks.
2. To prevent damage to the boot on the wheel side, fix the drive shaft on the press by the neck (12) using a puller.
3. Press the boot of the drive shaft to obtain the size (X1) = 117.5 mm±0.5 mm between the bearing guide and the end of the drive shaft.
4. Install the cross (13), matching the marks made during removal.
5. Install a new circlip (14) using special pliers.
6. Install the small clamp on the boot of the drive shaft.
7. Install a large clamp on the boot of the drive shaft.
8. Crimp clamps with special tools (Tav. 1168) (28) or (Tav. 1784) (29).

9. Install the front left drive shaft.
10. Install the front left wheel on the car.
11. Fill the gearbox with oil.
12.Install the engine protection tray.
