Attention:
- To avoid permanent damage to the front hub bearing:
- Do not loosen or tighten the drive shaft nut when the vehicle wheels are on the ground.
- Do not place the vehicle with its wheels on the ground when the drive shaft is loose or removed.
- When performing repair work, lubricate the base of the input shaft bearing with BR2 grease to prevent the bearing from seizing.
- Make sure the O-ring is properly seated in the base of the relay bearing, if equipped.
Note: Transmission oil leaks through the drive shaft can cause serious damage.
Be sure to replace with new ones after each removal:
- o-ring seals (if installed on a bearing).
- left drive shaft retaining ring (if there is one),
- differential output seal after each drive shaft removal.
