Attention:
- To avoid permanent damage to the front hub bearing:
- Do not loosen or tighten the drive shaft nut when the vehicle wheels are on the ground.
- Do not place the vehicle with its wheels on the ground with the drive shaft loose or removed.
- When performing repairs, lubricate the base of the take-up shaft bearing with BR2 grease to prevent the bearing from seizing.
- Verify that the O-rings are correctly positioned in the base of the relay bearing, if any.
Note: Gear oil leaks through the drive shaft can cause serious damage.
Be sure to replace with new ones after each removal:
- o-rings of circular cross-section (if mounted on a bearing).
- dinner retaining ring of the left drive shaft (if any),
- differential output seal after each removal of the drive shaft.
