1. Reflector. 2. Drive shaft. 3. Driveshaft joint housing. 4. Cross. 5. Retaining ring. 3. Spring. 7. Anther drive shaft. 8. Small boot collar. 9. Large collar boot.
Attention: When performing work, use sealed gloves (nitrile).
Removing the anther of the left drive shaft from the side of the gearbox
1. Place the vehicle on a two post lift.
2. Unscrew the fastening bolts and remove the engine protective tray.
3. Drain the oil from the gearbox.
4. Remove the front right wheel.
5. Remove the front right drive shaft.
6. Remove the output differential seal.
7. Use a hacksaw or wire cutters to remove a large (10) and small (11) duster clamps. being careful not to damage the pivot housing or drive shaft.
8. Bend back the driveshaft boot to release the driveshaft pivot housing.
9. Remove the drive shaft joint housing (12).
Note: Because the driveshaft pivot housing does not have locking bars, it can be easily removed without force. Do not remove the rollers from the cross, as each of them is conditioned to a specific position and cannot be repositioned.
10. Remove the spring (13).
11. Remove as much grease as possible from the driveshaft pivot housing.
Note: Do not use solvents to remove grease.
12. Remove the retaining ring with special pliers (16)
Note: Before removing, mark the installation position of the cross.
13. Using a press and a puller, remove the cross (17) from the drive shaft.
14. Remove boot (18) from the drive shaft.
Installing the anther of the left drive shaft from the side of the gearbox
Caution: Replace boot, circlip and boot clamps with new ones after each removal.
1. Use a cleaning agent to clean the drive shaft, cross and drive shaft joint housing.
2. Place the small clamp (19) to the drive shaft.
3. Apply a light coat of the grease supplied with the new boot to the driveshaft to facilitate installation of the boot.
4. Install boot (20) to the drive shaft.
5. Insert the edges of the boot into the groove of the drive shaft.
6. Install the cross (21), matching the marks made during removal.
7. Install new circlip (22) using special pliers
8. Install the spring (23).
9. Apply grease between the driveshaft boot and joint housing.
10. Insert tripod cross (27) into the hinge body (26).
11. Place the edges of the drive shaft boot into the groove on the hinge housing.
Note: Make sure the lip of the dust boot is properly seated in the driveshaft groove.
12. Install a small clamp on the boot of the drive shaft.
13. Install a large clamp on the boot of the drive shaft.
14. Crimp clamps with special tools (Tav. 1168) (28) or (Tav. 1784) (29).

15. Install the differential output seal.
16. Install the front right drive shaft.
17. Install the front right wheel.
18. Fill the gearbox with oil.
19. Install the engine protection tray.
