Removing
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the air filter unit (see chapter "Intake and exhaust system").
3. Remove intake manifold (see chapter "Intake and exhaust system").
4. Remove ignition coils.
5. Unhook the electrical wiring from the rocker cover.
6. To turn away bolts of fastening and to remove a cover of yokes with a lining.
Installation
Attention:
- Do not scratch the aluminum contact surfaces, any damage to the contact surfaces may cause leakage.
- The gasket surfaces must be clean and free from grease to ensure proper sealing (prevent fingerprints).
1. Clean the rocker cover gasket mounting surface with fine abrasive paper.
2. Use a cleaning agent to degrease the contact surfaces of the cylinder head and the seal installation groove in the rocker arm cover if the cover is reused.
3. Apply a bead of silicone sealant to #1 and #5 camshaft bearings (1), and around the four rear rocker cover mounting holes (2).
Note: Excess applied sealant may be squeezed out when tightening threaded connections. Sealant entering the coolant may cause damage to some components (engine, radiator, etc.).
4. Install the rocker arm cover with a new gasket.
5. Tighten the rocker cover mounting bolts in the sequence shown in the figure to a torque of 10 Nm.
6. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
