Disassembly
- Using a special device. Compress the spring so that it moves away from the top of the post. When using a special device for compressing springs, make sure that the spring coils are securely grasped. and compress the spring from opposite sides. The spring has a very high compression force, so use only a very reliable tool.
- Use a wrench to secure the shock absorber rod from turning and, using a second spanner, unscrew the central nut securing the shock absorber rod (pic. 10.5).
- Remove the upper spring plate, the spring along with the spring compression device, the corrugated protective cover, the damper, the elastic support, the lower spring support and the bearing from the shock absorber rod.

Installation
- Shock-absorbing struts must be stored in warehouses in a horizontal position. Under these conditions, short-term loss of performance of racks designed to operate in a vertical position is possible. Before installing the strut on the vehicle, to make it operational, manually push the strut rod in and out several times in a vertical position. i.e., perform several full strokes of extension and compression.
- When replacing a spring, to make it easier to install a new spring, observe the location and alignment of the spring and the jaws of the spring compressor.
- Observe the sequence and direction of installation of parts.
- Use a wrench to secure the shock absorber rod from turning. using a second spanner, screw in a new shock absorber rod mounting nut and tighten it to a torque of 60 Nm.
- Using caution, remove the spring compressor.
- Install the shock absorber strut on the car and use 3 nuts to secure the upper part of the strut to the body, tightening the nuts to a torque of 25 Nm.
- Screw in the bolts securing the shock absorber strut to the steering knuckle
- Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
